East Coast Mountain Trails is a Hunter-based trail-building enterprise dedicated to crafting high-quality, durable, and enjoyable trails that are accessible to all riders.

Founded in 2019 by Mat Rowland, the company is driven by a team of passionate mountain bikers with extensive hands-on experience in Australia and Canada—renowned as a global hub for mountain biking and trail building. Mat continues to lead the company, working with Kenny Day and Dave Cook, both of whom bring valuable expertise in trail construction and excavation.

The crew is not only well versed in the trail building world but also hold qualifications and extensive experience in trade areas such as carpentry, plumbing and electrical allowing us to complete a wide verity of projects competently including bridge construction, facility upgrades and construction, concreting, retain walls as well as experience in graphic design for trail network signage and mapping.

Our professional team has worked with a range of clients, including private developers, government agencies, and local councils, to design and construct exceptional trails that enhance outdoor recreation. We provide comprehensive solutions for every stage of trail development, from initial design through to construction and ongoing maintenance, ensuring each project is carefully planned and expertly built.
